Tours became part of The Detour Adventures
Group. Detour Adventures is wholly owned by
Redpath Pacific Pty Ltd ABN 51 054 880 303
Shortly
afterwards, we changed the name to Bathurst
Tours replacing Bathurst & District
One Day Tours.
We felt
that Bathurst Tours better reflects
the local services we provide. And while we still travel
all over the district, the new name along with new logo
and signage is a fresh approach to the same personalised,
private small group touring we enjoy providing for you,
in the Bathurst region.

Under the
guidance of Ian Redpath, a locally based Bathurst businessman
with a vast depth of knowledge and experience in business,
aviation and professional 4WDing, Bathurst Tours aim
is to offer a personalised, professional tour for you
to enjoy.
Our bus
tours operate predominantly in and around the Bathurst
area. We also offer charter services such as Sydney
airport transfers / cruise terminal transfers, corporate
and group functions, private winery tours and tailor
made packages as required.
The parent
company is a Redpath family owned and operated business
that carries full Transport for NSW Bus Operators Accreditation
No 38461. We are fully licensed, insured and experienced
to operate as a bus company providing charter, long
distance and tourism tours for our Guests.
At present,
we operate three Toyota Coaster Charter buses (not school
buses). These are modern, well presented and maintained
20 x Guest vehicles. We also have a beautiful Mercedes-Benz
minibus that carries 7 x Guests in comfort for smaller
private and bespoke tours.
We can also
provide larger buses on demand with our network of Coach
operators in our area.

Detour
Adventures
4WDing is
a specialised field. There are plenty of operators who
offer a bash through the bush type experience. Detour
Adventures changes all that with a professional approach
to 4WDing. You can experience a day of off-road adventures
in the comfort of a new Toyota Land Cruiser 200 series
4WD with spacious seating for 7 adults and air conditioning
to every row of seats.
For the
adventurous, this fully equipped 4WD is set to go places
you’d imagine impossible to tackle.
For the more conservative, you can enjoy a day of adventure
touring the national parks and forests in the Blue Mountains,
Lithgow, Hartley, Jenolan Caves, Kanangra-Boyd, Kowmung
River, Abercrombie River, Sunny Corner, Turon River
and everywhere in between.
Detour Adventure's
origins date back to 1923, when a family coach tour
business offered Guests a great day adventure from Katoomba
to Jenolan Caves. The owner was the well-known Katoomba
local James Kenneth Cale (known as Ken Cale); Ian Redpath’s
grandfather.
With over
30 years of four wheel driving experience, Ian Redpath;
your Driver / Guide is licensed under Transport for
NSW; has extensive local knowledge of the area, flora
and fauna and will help you enjoy a great day out.
